DOA & iPods

I know... It's an interesting mix of two topics, but what the heck. I've been putting Tecmo's latest entry into the fighting arena through its paces and I have to admit that I'm starting to become more of a fan of the series again. I was a huge DOA and DOA2 (in its many incarnations) fan, but lost most of my interest in the series when it left the shores of Sega and Sony and planted its flag in Microsoft territory. I also didn't think that DOA3 or Ultimate pushed the series far enough forward, excluding the online play, of course (Tekken and Virtua Fighter should take notice). However, with the release of DOA4, it appears that Itagaki and his Team Ninja are on the right path again and appear to have made enough changes, additions and refinements worthy of the number. I still wish that a few more innovative elements or modes could have been added (this is where the series could learn a bit from VF4's awesome training mode or Tekken/Soul Calibur's bonus options), as additional costumes don't seem to have the charm they once did.

I still haven't had a chance to take my skills online, but I should hopefully be able to do that sometime next week. I'll let you all know how the game performs on my DSL connection and what sort of competition there is out there. If you guys want to play me, just email me your Xbox Live names and I'll add them to my friends list.

On the iPod front, I just came across a pretty interesting deal that I thought I should share with you all.

An online store called Millennium Music is offering to turn old CDs into brand new iPods. All you do is ship them your CDs and they’ll estimate the value and send you back an iPod. The CD to iPod conversion basically works like this:

45 CDs = 512 MB iPod Shuffle
65 CDs = 1 GB iPod Shuffle
85 CDs = 2 GB iPod Nano
110 CDs = 4 GB Nano
130 CDs = 30 GB iPod
175 CDs = 60 GB iPod

Those of you are interested should definitely swing your browsers to:

It seems like a good deal, especially if you happen to have a lot of old CDs laying around the house. I would have jumped on and gotten one had I not already picked up a video iPod a few weeks back.
